Lib Dem Friends of Hong Kong Team
“We are building a network of pro-democracy campaigners against challenging regimes.
Friendships and networks among states can no longer be presumed, they have to be constantly earned. It’s not only about managing risk but also about designing smarter, context-sensitive engagement frameworks.”

Arthur Wu - Spokesperson for Youth Affairs
Arthur Wu, born just before the handover of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to China, plays a key role in helping our team liaise with the youth wings of our sister organisations, including the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) and the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats Youth (CALD Youth).
We recognise that building strong international youth networks is vital in the fight against transnational repression from China, as a coordinated and comprehensive response is essential to counter the Chinese Communist Party’s whole-of-society efforts to undermine democracy and our way of life.
